Comyns & Co on topsy with Popsy

The first and only sparkling gruner veltliner in Australia!

Looking for something unique to quaff with friends? Come on down Hunter Valley winemaker Scott Comyns - he has it covered with some smashing bubbles named Popsy.

ScoCo (couldn't resist) is not one to make bold statements, so how about this: "I believe it's the only sparkling Gruner Veltiner in Australia," he says.

Gruner is a white grape variety from Austria and Hungary, and while there are quite a few being made in Australia, he reckons he's the only way making it into a sparkling wine. And he's on to something, because it really is very more-ish.

It's easy-drinking ($35), fresh and zippy, with loads of fine bubbles on the tongue and a tangy finish. A great way to start the backyard barbecue.
