HE SAID: Oh yeah! The is a serious cabernet from Margaret River. The price isn’t insignificant, but nor is the quality. It’s fleshy and soft in the mouth – layered black and red fruits, terrific concentration, classy oak, friendly tannins. Treat yourself to a bottle. It’s top-shelf stuff. I dropped a hint that it would make a great Christmas present. I think I was ignored, rather heartlessly if I say so myself, but we’ll see.
SHE SAID: If only we had the budget to drink wine of this quality every day (but maybe Santa will come to the party!). It has lovely chocolate aromas that had me salivating from the get-go and is bursting with juicy, red berry fruit. Absolutely delicious with slow-roasted lamb shoulder on a cool autumn night. You can cellar it for 15 years, but my philosophy is closer to Thomas Jefferson’s, who once said “never put off tomorrow what you can do today!”
