HE SAID: Shiraz-pinot blends used to be a common occurrence in the Hunter but went out of fashion. Well, they're back with an increasing number of winemakers giving them a try. This label, made by First Creek winemaker Liz Jackson and husband Shaun Silkman, is highly impressive. This wine is delicious. Light, fragrant but with stunning length. I'm told it's a big hit at the Small Winemakers Centre cellar door.
SHE SAID: This was a new label we’d not tried before but we’ll definitely be buying more. The blend may be shiraz dominant but to me the pinot really was the star of the show. It’s light to medium weight with a super plush texture and very moreish. Went down a treat with Italian sausage and capsicum pizza.
