HE SAID: This sits in the sub-$20 range and it’s meant to be very easy drinking - and it does just that in a canter. Berry flavours - mainly red fruits but with some earthy darker berries in there as well - it's soft and fleshy and hits the brief. If you’re looking for a drink-now red that won’t blow the budget, give this a go.
SHE SAID: Who doesn’t love a bargain? This shiraz from David Hook is great value for money at just $18. It’s a blend of Hunter Valley fruit from David’s Pothana Old Vines vineyard and fruit sourced from Mudgee with lots of fruit flavour and a peppery finish. Went down a treat with snags we cooked on the Weber barbie.
